※鍋が熱いうちに熱湯を注ぎ、蓋を取ると、鍋に残った水分が余熱で蒸発し、自然に乾きます。 または、使用後にポット内の水分を電気ポットパネルの余熱で乾燥させる（余熱は電気を切った後に限る）ことで、ポットの錆を効果的に防止できます。
錆が発生している場合は、柔らかいブラシで錆の部分をきちんと落とし、濃いめのお茶を沸かし、それを何度か繰り返します。また、米のとぎ汁、酢、切ったタマネギ、ジャガイモのスライス、塩少々に浸した大根などを使って錆を落とすこともできます。
